THE LEIGH FAMILY OF MELISSA, TEXAS
Biography.
LEIGH FAMILY.
Much of the following information was given to me by Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Hendricks of McKinney, Texas. Charlie was born and reared a few miles north of Melissa and he knew the Leigh family.
Other information is from Collin County (Texas) Cemetery Inscriptions, V. 1, by Mrs. Alice Pitts, Mrs. Wanda O’Roark and Mrs. Doris Posey.

In May 1991 a Mr. Leslie Leigh of England wrote to the Old Post Office Museum stating that he war researching the family Leigh and found that there was a member who had immigrated to America and Settle in Melissa, Texas. Charlie Hendricks related the following:
Henry Leigh owned and operated a drug store on the south side of Main Street. He had the following children (could have been more)
Henry Tom Leigh was a physician and lived in Midland, Texas.
Jessie Leigh married a West from Princeton, Collin Co., Texas.
Billy Tom Leigh was also a physician and lived in Midland, Texas.

It seems that both the doctors had a sad and tragic life.
