...John C. Easton...migrated to Collin County in 1851. He helped legally establishment of Plano.... He and wife, Selah, had one son, Eugene, 5 at the time. I found them in Collin County in 1860 census, Eugene 14. Found them in Grimes County (Navasota) 1870 census Children born there: Anna Campbell Easton, John Easton They moved to Galveston, have no research on this yet Third child, James, born in Galveston, #4 somewhere? They returned to North Texas in early 1870's. Margaret Campbell Easton died in Paris? 1874. Anna Campbell Easton married C. D. Kelly in Paris, 1888. Their daughter, Olive Margaret Kelly, born in Paris, married Rev. Gus Ramage in Dallas 1919....
James Campbell saved Houston’s life March 27, 1814 at the Battle of Horseshoe Bend near Montgomery, Ala. Houston sent Campbell Houston’s gold-headed cane. James/Charlotte Campbell lived at Riverdale, near Knoxville, Tenn., James there all his life. James/Charlotte brought youngest daughter, Margaret Jane to Texas in mid-1860's, to McKinney or Paris? Margaret Jane and Eugene Easton were married. Their daughter, Anna Campbell Easton married C. D. Kelly, July 4, 1888, Paris, Texas. Kelly had retail/wholesale drug, Greiner-Kelly, Paris. Their elder daughter, Olive Margaret Kelly, b 9/7/90 Paris. She married Rev. Gus Ramage, Christian Church Minister. ... Their only daughter, born Brenham, Tex 7-27-20. John C. was lawyer, Judge Supreme Court of Texas Internal Revenue Collector, Tombstone, Ariz., U. S. Commissioner, Eastern District of Texas. Eugene later was lawyer, Alice (Allie) Bonner 2nd wife. You do not request record of Rev. service on this line, but if you need that for your D. A. R. application, you could apparently claim it on service of either Col. James5 or Norman (d)6, grandfather and father of your Michael Perry7, as shown by data on pages 28-29, 41, altho further information with sources would probably be required for Normand’s service. We find no ref. to his name in our Conn. Rev. War records except in one place, where he is listed as from Woodbury, drafted or detached from Hine’s co., Col. Moseley’s regt. of militia to serve in Continental Army, 1778 (Rev. Lists & Returns, publ in Conn. Hist. Soc. Colls. XII:100) – no actual service is indicated, however. Ref. to Col. James’ service is found “Mass. Soldiers and Sailors of the War of the Rev...”
