A wedding involving two of Collin County’s pioneer families was solemnized at the home of the officiating clergyman Dr. Clifford S. Weaver last Friday evening June Eighteenth at which time Miss Martha Nan Edwards became the bride of George J. Holland. The bride was lovely in a suit of white silk shantung. Her accessories were white and she wore an orchid shoulder corsage. Both Mr. and Mrs. Holland are graduates of the Boyd High School and both have been reared in McKinney where they are well and favorable known to a multitude of friends.
Mrs. Holland is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Will J. Edwards while the groom is a son of Mrs. Grace Holland. George has just returned from seventeen months of service in Christoval, Canal Zone, while Mrs. Holland is an expert operator for Western Union, stationed now at the important defense works city of Orange, Texas. Both the bride and bridegroom will continue in their respective work after a brief honeymoon spent in El Paso and other West Texas points.
