1. Equilla Joshua BURNS, son of William W. Burns and of Nancy Ann FARMER, was born and reared in Collin County on 17 August 1863, Cooke County, TX and died at his son's home, 204 Vance in Plano, TX on 7 June 1942. In McKinney he married Mary Elizabeth SWAIN on 15 March 1891, daughter of Eldred J. SWAIN and Elizabeth J. BROWN of Millwood. Mary was born on 14 January 1873 at her parents farm in Millwood. She died 6 August 1940 also at her son's home on Vance in Plano. Equilla and Mary Elizabeth lived in the Wylie area until their later years when they went to live in Plano with their son and his wife, Joe E. Burns and Vergie Glenda Stibbens. Equilla was a tall slender man with dark auburn hair and blue eyes and ruddy complexion. Mary Elizabeth was likewise tall although stout with black hair, blue eyes and medium skin tone.
Of their children, Betty, Charlie, Dealia and Tom had dark brown hair and blue eyes like their mother. Joe, Pierce and Mattie took after their father with sandy hair and blue eyes. The auburn and sandy hair continues to surface in this family.

2. George2 Thomas BURNS, born 27 May 1892 at Wylie, Collin, TX; died on 2 May 1972 at Murphy and buried in his parents' plot at the Wylie Cemetery. He married Ida Rene GRIFFIN on 27 May 1915 in McKinney.
3. Mattie BURNS, born 12 1893 at Wylie, Collin, TX; died 19 Feb. 1984 at Corsicana, Navarro, TX. She married 1 Dec. 1908, at McKinney, Collin, TX to Joe Martin STIBBENS, son of George Washington Stibbens and of Glendine MURR.
4. Joe Eldred BURNS, born 31 Mar 1895 at Wylie; died 29 Apr. 1977 at Plano.
5. Charlie BURNS, born 4 Dec 1896 at Wylie; died in 1919 at Wylie, buried at Shiloh Cemetery in Wylie.
6. Dealia BURNS, born 12 Apr. 1900 at Wylie. She married 12 July 1918, at McKinney to Lannie TRAMMELL, son of Lewis T. Daniel TRAMMELL and Mary Margaret J. STEVENS
7. Betty Elizabeth BURNS was born 14 Feb. 1902 at Wylie and died 23 Dec 1967. She is buried at Plano Mutual Cemetery. She married (1) 1924, in Collin County to Jim PATTERSON; and married (2) 1934, to Charles Crutchfield MAY, Sr.; and married (3) about 1942, to Walter DICKENS. She is buried at Plano Mutual Cemetery.
8. Walter Pierce BURNS, born 4 July 1904 at Wylie and died 8 July 1973 at Dallas. He married 17 DEC 1921, at Parker to Johnie Ethel STIBBENS, daughter of William Tabbel STIBBENS and of Bertha DRAIN.
