Mrs. Mollie Abernathy
MRS. ABERNATHY DIES AT FT. WORTH
Plano Star-Courier, December 23, 1921
Mrs. Mollie Abernathy, an early settler of Plano, was laid to rest at the City Cemetery in Plano yesterday afternoon. Since the death of her husband, J. R. Abernathy, the deceased had been making her home at Fort Worth, with her daughter, Mrs. C. C. Leatherwood, where her death occurred early Wednesday night from the infirmity of years. She was eighty years of age. The funeral was conducted at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. Leatherwood, in Fort Worth yesterday morning, followed by interment at Plano.
Mrs. Abernathy leaves two sons, Robert Abernathy, of Plano; and Homer Abernathy, of Dallas. Mrs. Leatherwood is the only surviving daughter.
Mr. and Mrs. Abernathy came to Plano many years ago, and had lived here until the former’s death about two years ago. They were members of the Methodist church, good citizens of the community, and their long and blameless lives in the community endeared them to everybody.
The Star-Courier joins with the community in offering condolence to the bereaved children.
