Sarah Jane Hendrix
HENDRIX
AFTER BRIEF ILLNESS
Plano Star Courier, October 12, 1917, second edition, p 3
Mrs. Sarah Jane Hendrix, seventy-nine years of age, died at the home of her son, L. R. Hendrix, at 11 o’clock on the morning of Thursday of last week after a brief illness. For several months she had been growing feeble without illness of any kind, and her death Thursday morning, came painlessly, following a very slight attack of fever that began the preceding day. No member of the family suspected that she was even seriously ill until a few hours preceding her death. After a long and useful life she seemed to sink peacefully into a quiet slumber.
Mrs. Hendrix was a native of Tennessee, but had lived at and near Plano for a long time. She leaves two sons, L. R. Hendrix, of Plano, and R. W. Hendrix of Bearden, Okla. Another son lies in the cemetery at Murphy, beside whom his mother now rests.
Mrs. Hendrix was a member of the International Bible Students Association and the funeral was conducted by Rev. Paul Telkamp of Dallas, a minister of that faith. The burial was at the Murphy cemetery at 3 p. m. Friday. The Star Courier extends sympathy to Mr. Hendrix and his family with whom his mother resided.
