Funeral services for Harold L. Combest, 77, of McKinney are set for 2 p.m. Friday at the First Baptist Church of Anna, with Rev. David Meeks officiating. Burial will follow in Elm Grove Cemetery in Westminster. Visitation is set for 7 to 8:30 p.m. tonight.
Combest died Wednesday at his residence. he was born April 7, 1920 in Anna, to Virgil Combest and Manie Webb Combest. he married Ruby Edith Bell on Nov. 15, 1939, in Van Alstyne. Combest was a Machinist for Kraft Foods, a member of the First Baptist Church of Anna and a veteran and recipient of the Purple Heart in World War II in the Army Air Corps. Combest was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife, Ruby Edith Combest of McKinney; a daughter, Ann Mauldin of Red Oak; a son, Randy D. Combest of McKinney; a sister, Melba Robertson of Plano; and three grandsons, Clifford Scott Campbell of Dallas, Christopher Lee Combest of McKinney, and Matthew Shane Combest of McKinney.
