McKinney Democrat, June 19, 1902
Mrs. Mary Elliott Logan, wife of R. H. (Dick) Logan, died Sunday afternoon at the family home in Abilene and was buried in that city at 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 16. She suffered a stroke of paralysis several weeks previous to her death from which she never recovered.
The deceased was a daughter of Dr. G. A. Foote, Sr., of McKinney. She was born here Feb. 28,1854 and reared in this city where she married her surviving husband June 21, 1874.
About 15 years ago she moved with her husband to Abilene. She was a sister of L. A., Ed. Lud, and Henry, and Capt. W. A. Rhea’s first wife, now all deceased except Henry Foote, who attended the funeral. Besides her husband, the following children are left to mourn their mother’s death: Flossie and Will, both married, Misses Jean and Lettie, Stuart and Commodore. A son, Harry, was accidentally shot and killed about a year ago at Abilene. The many friends of the family in this city will be grieved to learn of the demise of Mrs. Logan. The Democrat joins with them in extending condolence to the bereaved.
