JAMES FRIER
Letter.
In the 1860 census, Rebecca , Isom, and James [Frier] were living with J. M. & Laurena Lisenby. Laurena Lisenby’s maiden name was Frier and she was the sister to the other Friers. She married William Starkes in Arkansas then moved to Texas around 1855. I don’t know if she divorced Starkes or if he died but in 1859 Laurena married J. M. Lisenby. According to the 1870 and 1900 censuses for Collin Co., Laurena was still there. I don’t know when she died but, since she was 70 years old in 1900, I doubt that she lived much past the turn of the century....
James M. Frier lived next to Laurena in 1870. He was listed as single. In 1880, he was living in McCullock Co., and was listed as a widower. James had 3 children, with the oldest being 6 years old. Sometime between 1870 and 1874, he was married but I don’t know where or to whom.
