PHILLIP FOOTE
Biography.
Phillip Foote, our great-great grandfather, and oldest son of John Wesley Foote of Ireland, was born in North Carolina, according to many records, June 16, 1785.
He married Elizabeth Ballinger, b. November 25, 1787 in Virginia; d. July 8, 1865 in Orange Co., Illinois. He died September 17, 1862, in Orange Co., Indiana. Both are buried in the Old Baptist Cemetery northwest of French Lick, Indiana. The cemetery is located near where old Pinnick’s Meeting House once stood.
They had three children:
I. John Wesley III: b. May 17, 1820, Lawrence Co., Indiana; d. May 6, 1868, Millwood, Texas.
II. William: b. March 22, 1823, Lawrence Co., Indiana; d. December 13, 1877, in Orange Co., Indiana. Is buried in Old Baptist Cemetery near his parents and children.
III. Lavenia: b. July 19, 1827, Lawrence Co., Indiana; d. July 8, 1849, Hunt County, Texas, near Greenville.
