Services for Ellis Elizabeth (Herndon) Cashon, 85, of Celina, who died Wednesday at North Texas Medical Center, will be 2 p.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church in Celina with Dr. Raymond Horne officiating and under the direction of Cantrell Funeral Home of Celina.
Mrs. Cashon was born on Nov. 26, 1908, in Collin County, the daughter of the late Edward Douglas and Lula Bell Sweatt Herndon. She married Lester Claud Cashon on Dec. 3, 1926, in Collin County. Mrs. Cashon was a member of the First Baptist Church in Celina and a housewife.
Survivors include two sons, Co. Richard C. Cashon of Burk, Va. and Dr. Robert E. Cashon of Veasy, Maine; four daughters, Nancy Alexander of Irving, and Dorothy Stambaugh, Pat Johnson and Jane Willard, all of Celina; one sister, Mary George of Celina; 15 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; and one sister, Maggie Ellenburg.
Visitation will be from 7 to 8 tonight at Cantrell Funeral Home.
