CHARLES LEWIS DIED IN NAVAL SERVICE
McKinney Courier, February 4, 1920
According to a message received here, Charles Lewis, 23 years old, died at San Fransisco, Calif., Tuesday. He was a member of the United States Navy in which he had served since he was 16 years old. He was a grandson of Mrs. J. H. Lewis, South Benge street, and a nephew of Frank Lewis, 406 South Church and Walter Lewis, West Davis street.
He was born west of town and was reared at Allen, where his father, W. J. Lewis for many years.
The body will be shipped to Wheeler, Texas, the home of his parents, for burial.
