MRS. DINK HERNDON DIES IN CITY COUNTY HOSPITAL

Mrs. Dink Herndon, 72, died in the City-County hospital Thursday night at 10:20 o’clock where she had been a patient for several days. She was born in Collin county, January 8, 1881, the daughter of Brookson and Sara Shields, and had lived in the county all of her life.
Surviving are her husband, Dink Herndon, R 2 McKinney, two daughters, Mrs. Robert R. Miller of Route 2 McKinney; Mrs. J. S. Kent of Dallas; two grandchildren, Mrs. W. B. Acrey of Fort Worth; Robert R. Miller Jr. of Dallas and two great-grandchildren. Two brothers, Wesley Shields of Princeton and Will Shields of McKinney also survive.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 4 o’clock at the Mt. Olive Baptist church, conducted by Rev. John Moore of Dallas. Burial follows in Mt. Olive cemetery under the direction of the Crouch-Moore funeral home.
Active pallbearers: Fred Apple, Sam Lunsford, Otis Caroll, Dewey Ray, Roy Douglas and Slick Wilson.
