H. GRADY COOPER DIED EARLY SATURDAY

Homer Grady Cooper, 68, passed away at 6 o’clock Saturday morning in Collin Memorial Hospital after several weeks illness. He resided at 507 North Kentucky Street and was retired business manager of the City-County Hospital here.
He was born in Cleveland, Tennessee, January 27, 1891, the son of A. and Mary Shamblin Cooper. He came to Collin County 56 years ago. At the time of his death Mr. Cooper was an active member of the First Baptist Church, serving as superintendent of the Adult Department in the Sunday School, and president of the church choir. He was also a member of the Lions Club.
He was married in 1920 to Miss Effie Kuykendall who preceded him in death in 1953.
Surviving are four sisters, Miss Mattie Lou Cooper and Mrs. E. C. McMurray, Sr., both of McKinney, Mrs. Linnie Simmons of Garland, and Mrs. H. I. McLarry of Dallas, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Sunday at the First Baptist Church, conducted by Dr. Chas. Myers, pastor, with burial in Pecan Grove Cemetery under the direction of Crouch-Moore Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were: E. C. McMurray Jr. of Graham, Roscoe Wallace of Greenville, Charles Prince of McKinney, Doyle Lee and James Simmons, all of Garland.
