Barksdale - west Plano
The Barksdale community and school were located in present-day west Plano on the west bank of White Rock Creek. It was southwest of the early community of Lebanon. The school opened in 1860. Later the building was moved 2 miles northwest near Preston Road. The school was also called Spring Creek.
