A. C. Clark’s father came to Texas in 1845 and settled on White Rock Creek west of Plano, where he built a water mill. Alvin C. served under General Morgan during the Civil War and was captured and held for 17 months before escaping. He returned to Texas and bought 329.77 acres August 25, 1873. He raised corn, oats, cane, sheep, cows, hogs, horses and mules. His heirs today grow maize, wheat, cotton and cattle on their 188.23 acres.
