C. M. CHRISTIE 74 YEARS OLD ON WEDNESDAY

C. M. (Lone) Christie, well known citizen of Allen and early settler of Collin county, was 74 years old Wednesday. His daughter, Mrs. B. C. Cook, who resides on Leland Avenue in this city, entertained with a luncheon on that date honoring her father’s birthday anniversary. Those present were Mr. and Mrs. Christie, Capt. Milt Board, Commissioner and Mrs. W. J. Robbins of Plano. Miss Sherer of Sherman, Mrs. Charles Peters of Greenville, Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Giddings of Allen, Mr. and Mrs. G. C. Christie, Allen. Grandmother Cook, Mr. and Mrs. B. C. Cook and five grand children. The day was very enjoyably spent, and the luncheon served was a surprise to Mr. Christie. Mr. and Mrs. Christie have eight children, all grown and married, but only four of them were present Wednesday. Mr. Christie was born in Alabama, but his parents came to Texas, locating in East Texas, when he was only about two years of age. He later came to Collin county and has since resided in and near Allen, probably 55 or 60 years. Forty seven years ago he was married to Miss Artie Bell Clisbee, at Lebanon. Mrs. Christie is a native of Illinois, but her parents were pioneer settlers of Collin county. For many years Mr. and Mrs. Christie resided on the farm, but twenty-four years ago they moved to Allen, where they are comfortably located and are enjoying their declining years., He served four years as county commissioner of the Allen-Wylie-Plano precinct.
