Robt. L. Murray, 90, Funeral Services Held Friday
Funeral services were held for another of Collin County's most beloved pioneers at 3 p.m. Friday in the Crouch-Moore Funeral home.
Robert L. Murray, 90, passed away at his home om Highway 75 in the Westel community at 8:30 o'clock p.m. Wednesday, following several weeks' illness. Mr. Murray had lived in that community for 69 years. He was born Feb. 12, 1857, at Waynesville, N. C., the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jas. Murray.
Mr. Murray is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mattie M. Murray, whom he married March 14,1894, and six children: Selmar Murray of Dallas, Elmer K. Murray of Hamberg, Iowa, Athel B. Murray of Kansas City, Mo., Robert Audie Murray of Pottersville, M-Sgt. Austin H. Murray with the U. S. Marine Corps on Guam and Mrs. Lillie May Knight at home. Four grandchildren and two half-sister also survive.
Interment in Pecan Grove Cemetery with Rev. Milton Greer officiating. Pallbearers were Will Bush, V. Crossnoe, R. E. Beasley, Ken Knight, Vertis Renfro and Henry Wetsel.
