Funeral services for Dessie Gladys Slavey, 81, of McKinney, who died Tuesday at her residence, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday in the North Baptist Church with Dr. Troy Culpepper and Rev. Fred Winslow officiating. Interment will be in Ridgeview Memorial Park with Horn-Harris-Crouch Funeral Home in charge of the services.
Slavey was born March 27, 1905 in Stephenville, the daughter of the late Rev. and Mrs. George C. Ford, and married W. J. Slavey, 1923, in McKinney.
She was a retired nurse, serving 17 years at Collin Memorial Hospital. Slavey was a member of the North Baptist Church.
Survivors include two brothers: Leonard Ford of McKinney, Clyde Ford of Grand Prairie; sister, Mrs. Cecil Wallen of Allen; 2 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, W. J. Slavey and her daughter Mary Beth Homebaker.
