Funeral services for Gladys Mae Sims, 76, of Anna, who died Saturday in North Texas medial Center, will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Flesher Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Steven Pitts and Robert Helsley officiating. Interment will be in Van Alstyne Cemetery with Flesher Funeral Home of Van Alstyne in charge of the services.
Sims was born in Pecan Gap, Tennessee, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Gilbert, and married Raymond Sims Aug. 24, 1941 in Anna.
She was a housewife and a member of Elmont Baptist Church.
Survivors include three sons: Jame C. Sweeney of Gladewater, Charles Sims of Van Alstyne and David Sims of Denison; two daughters; Mrs. Clydell Young of Dallas and Mary Ann Harris of Melissa; brother, Clarence Gilbert of Avery; sister, Flossie Kuykendall of Dallas; 19 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be: Stephen Sweeney, Mark and Brian Harris, Michael, Steve and Bobby Lambert.
