John C. Seydel
Born in Northumberland County, Penn October 4, 1817. His father was John Seydel, who was also born in Northumberland County, Penn near Milton, Penn and his grandfather was Johann Michel Seydel who came to America from Germany in 1773.
John C. (Cook) Seydel married Susan Curts of Burlington, Ia. He died in 1895. She died Agu 31, 1901 - age 84 yrs. Both buried in Celina Cemetery, Celina, Texas, Collin County.
John C. worked his way west and by 1857 he owned a cotton Plantation in Dallas County, Texas. In early 1877 he sold out, and on Feb. 20, 1877 he and his wife Susan purchased 214 acres in the northwest part of Collin county, Texas. Here they lived out the rest of their lives.
He had two brothers,George W. Seydel who is buried at Cassidy, Missouri and Robert Andrew who is buried at Santa Clara, Calif.
To John C. and Susan were born two children - Tom T. and James H.
Tom married Elizabeth. He was born Feb. 24, 1853 Died Oct 1, 1891. She born 1860 and died 1936. Both buried at Celina, Texas 4 children.
James H. born 1854 - died 1919 is buried at Celina Texas. Two years after the death of Tom, James H. married Tom's widow Elizabeth.
