Death Near Parker 9/24/08
Good Citizen Answers Death's Call Sunday Night John T. Rossetter, who has been a citizen of the Parker community many years, died Sunday evening at 8:30 o'clock at his home near Parker. His illness covered several weeks back when he was taken with typhoid pneumonia, his condition gradually growing worse until he finally succumbed to death's call. John T. Rossetter was fifty years old at the time of his death. He had lived in the Parker neighborhood for many years and was a popular citizen of that community. He was married to Miss Mattie Ward in 1891 and to their union ten children were born, the wife and nine children survive him. The funeral service was conducted by the Rev. Turner of Richardson, a Presbyterian minister, Mr Rossetter having been a consistent member of the Presbyterian Church for several years. His remains were laid to rest in the Murphy cemetery Monday evening surrounded by a large number of sorrowing friends. |
Mrs. J. T. Rossetter Passes Away at Home of Daughter 6-28-49
Mrs. Mattie Elizabeth Rossetter, native of Louisiana and resident of Collin County for 77 years, passed away recently at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Will Walker, at Murphy, after a week''s illness. Her funeral services were held at the Murphy Methodist Church with Rev. Luther Greer of Sanger in charge. Burial was made in the Murphy Cemetery. She was a member oat of the Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Rossetter, who was born June 17, 1865, was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. A. F. Ward. She married J. T. Rossetter on December 23, 1880, and to them were born 10 children, six of whom survive: Mrs. Will Walker, of Murphy; Mrs. Ruth Miller of Dallas; Mrs. Will Barbed of Montague, Mrs. Irma Strain of Dallas; Mrs. Ed Funderburgh of Plano and Mr. Bob Bishop of Corpus Christi. One sister Mrs. F. L. Butler of Lubbock; 33 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren also survive. Besides her husband and parents, four children preceded her in death. |
