McKinney Girl, 11, Has Heart Surgery
McKinney - Beverly Ritchey, 11, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. E. Ritchey of 1803 Josephine St., underwent open heart surgery in Parkland Hospital, Dallas, Tuesday morning.
Thirteen Collin County citizens, under the leadership of the McKinney Junior Chamber of Commerce, went to Dallas early Tuesday morning and donated 11 pints of blood to replace the blood taken from the blood bank for use in Beverly's operation according to Jaycee president, Dick Rogers. Rogers said this was made possible through the effort of Bill Sportsman, local businessman, who organized the group who donated the blood.
