Services For John C. Reed Held Saturday
Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. Saturday in Turrentine-Jackson Chapel for John C. Reed, 54, who died at his home, 112 Franklin Street, Thursday after a brief illness. Rev. Ray Williams and S. D. Lindsey officiated and burial was in Pecan Grove Cemetery. Pallbearers: Tom Andrews, L. M. Polson, Bill Barnes, Richard Derryberry, Arvis Buchanan and Bill Stroud. He was a native of Collin County, born February 27, 1910 the son of Ben F. and Lillie Stroud Reed. He was a member of King Memorial Baptist Church and was married December 23, 1930 in Durant, Okla. to Adelle McQueary. Surviving are his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Glen Mitchell, Greenville; Mrs. Harold Burk, Ft. Worth; two sons, J. C. Jr. of the U. S. Army and Bennie of McKinney; brother, Raymond Reed, McKinney; two sisters, Mrs. Elsie Taylor and Mrs. W. E. McCluskey, of McKinney and four grandchildren. |
Leland Reed
Funeral services for Leland Reed, 72, of Anna, who died Sunday at Wilson Jones Hospital in Sherman, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at First Christian Church in Anna. The Revs. Donald Griffith, Robert Helsley and Bob Johns will officiate. Interment will be at the Van Alstyne Cemetery with Flesher's Funeral Home in charge. Reed was born Jan. 12, 1914 in Weston, the son of Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Reed. He married Hazel Ashley Jan. 21, 1935 in McKinney. He was a retired comptroller for Data Flow Business Forms and owned auto parts store. He was a member of First Christian Church in Anna, where he served as deacon and elder. He is survived by his wife, Hazel Reed of Anna; one daughter, Linda Gail Crum of Anna; two brothers, Royce Reed of Anna and J. W. Reed of Howe; and two granddaughters, and Susan and Tracy Crum of Anna. Serving as pallbearers will be his nephews Don Murphy, Randy Brashear, Charles Ashley, Steven Reed, Mike Ashley, Larry Ashley, Ricky Rollins, Wayne Walden, J. D. Rollins and Doyle Rollins. |
