Lavon, Texas
Reavis School was established about 1870. It had a dirt floor, no windows, and was 12 feet by 16 feet. There was a fireplace for heat in cold weather, and students sat on long split logs seats. Water was brought from a spring about ½ mile away on Bear Creek. John Mayo taught at Reavis School. Little Creek School was in the same area on Alex Reavis land. Research was not found which indicated they were the same school or not.
