Funeral services for Maude L. Ray, 86, of McKinney, who died Sunday at Presbyterian North Village will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Horn-Harris-Crouch Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. James Puckett officiating. Interment will be in Ridgeview Memorial Park Cemetery with Horn-Harris-Crouch Funeral Home in charge. She was born Sept. 24, 1899 in Princeton, the daughter of the late Wylie M. and Lorene Grissom Nanney and married C. Hansford Ray, April 29, 1922 in McKinney. Ray was a past president of the Fidelis Class and past president of Ra-Tiga Co. She also served as chairman of the American Red Cross during World War II and served on the civic committees for the City of McKinney. She was a member of the First Baptist Church and a charter member of the En Avant Club Survivors include one son, Robert Ray of Richardson; one daughter, Dorothy Faye Cook of Richardson; six grandchildren, Mike Cook of Garland, Beverly Scott of McKinney, C. H. Ray II of Dallas, Robert Ray of Denver, Colo., Jean Ray De Ford of Lewisville and Lisa Ray of College Station; 11 great-grandchildren and one niece, Faye Hamilton of McKinney. Ray was preceded in death by her husband and one son, Charles R. Ray in 199. The family will be at the funeral home from 7-8 p.m. Monday. |
Mrs. R. L Ray, Charter Member of North Baptist Church Dies
Mrs. Lula Hawkins Bone Ray, 94, passed away Sunday in Twin Oaks Rest Home at Seagoville after an extended illness. She had been a resident of McKinney for 70 years, her home being located at 402 Erwin Street. She was a native of Texas, born November 22, 1870, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Foster Bone. She was married to R. L. Ray in Little Elm in 1893, who passed away in 1940. One son also preceded her in death. Mrs. Ray, the last charter member of the North Baptist Church here to pass away, had been active in that church for many years. She was the first organist, taught a Sunday School class and was president of the woman's Missionary Union for years. She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Jessie Ray Harris of Garland; five grandchildren, Mrs. Jack Melon and Mrs. H. M. Wess of Garland; Mrs. Ernie Conn of Wills Point; Mrs. G. R. Harris of Irving; Mrs. B. M. Easley of Arlington; 15 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday in Crouch-Moore Chapel, conducted by Rev. G. B. Bradshaw and Rev. S. D. Lindsey, with interment in Pecan Grove Cemetery. |
Funeral Services for Leonard Ray Sunday Afternoon
Funeral rites for Robert Leonard Ray, 60, who died here Friday morning, will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Harris-Horn Funeral Chapel, with Rev. George Kemp, pastor of the North Baptist Church, and Rev. G. B. Bradshaw, officiating. Interment will be in Pecan Grove Cemetery.
Mr. Ray , well-known insurance man of McKinney and Collin County, was born here April 24, 1898, the son of R. L. and Lula Bone Ray. He was married January 19, 1919 to Miss Pearl Evans, and was a member of the North Baptist Church.
Survivors are his wife and his mother, both of McKinney; two daughters, Mrs. Betty Melton of Garland; Mrs. Bobbye Conn of McKinney; a sister, Mrs. Clayton Harris of Palestine and eight grandchildren.
