Mrs. Rawlings service held 2 p.m. Thursday
Mrs. Alta J. Rawlings, 72 of Allen, died Tuesday night in Wysong Nursing Center. She was a native of Collin County, born July 7 1896, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. P. A. Smith. She was a member of the Methodist Church at Allen. Funeral services were held at 2 .m. Thursday in Turrentine-Jackson Chapel. Rev. Leon Chumbley and Raymond Womack, officiating with burial in Fitzhugh cemetery at Foresrt Grove. Surviving are two sons, Arthur Rawlings of Carrollton; John Rawlings of Allen; two grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, one brother, Russell Smith of McKinney and a sister, Mrs. Thelma Wolfe of Wylie. |
celina Chief of Police passes away
Funeral services for Clarence A. Rawlings, 48, chief of police at Celina were held Sunday at 3 p.m. in the First Baptist Church. He died Friday in an ambulance en route to a McKinney hospital following a heart attack. Rev. J. T. Bledsoe and Rev. Beck Williams conducted the service and burial was in Cottage Hill Cemetery, directed by Scott Funeral Home. He was born may 23, 1921, the son of Charlie and Pearl Beck Rawlings, and was of Baptist faith. Surviving are his wife; son, Bobby Rawlings; daughter, Mrs. Gene Hendrix and two grandchildren, all of Celina; two brothers, Austin Rawlilngs of Allen and Omer Rawlings of Florida. |
C. C. Rawlings of Celina Dies at Residence There
Charlie Clarence Rawlings, 74, died Wednesday at his home in Celina. He was a retired farmer there. He was born December 15, 1885 in Oklahoma, son of S. A. and Mary Owens Rawlings. He married Miss Lillie Pearl Beck October 31, 1909, and was a member of the Baptist church.
Surviving are his wife, four sons, Austin Rawlings of Allen; Eugene Rawlings of San Diego, Calif; Omer Rawlings of Jacksonville, Fla. and Clarence Rawlings of Celina; Daughter, Mrs. Eldon Reneau of Frisco; two brothers, Hiram Rawlings of Fort Worth; Claud Rawlings of Oklahoma; sister Mrs. Etta Phares of Monahans; six grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Services are 2 p.m. Friday in the First Baptist church , Celina, conducted by Rev. Ross Bourland and Rev. J. F. May, Jr., with burial at Cottage Hill. Crouch-Moore Funeral Home directing arrangements.
Pallbearers: Con Hock, Ted Floyd, Willett Browning, Grover Sheets, M. A. Huffstatter and Robert Nickelson.

Eugene Rawlings, 47, of 2514 Curlew Street, San Diego, California, died Tuesday night, Nov. 26. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Nov. 30 in Crouch-Moore Chapel, Rev. Ross Moreland and W. S. Milton officiating with burial at Cottage Hill.
He was born My 16, 1916 in Weston, Collin County, the son of Charles C. and Lillie Pearl Beck Rawlings.
Surviving are his wife; daughter Mrs. Louise Hammond of Taft, Calif; two grandchildren; mother, Mrs. C. C. Rawlings, Celina; sister Mrs. J. E. Reneau, Frisco; three brothers, Austin of Allen; Clarence of Celina; Omer L. of Jacksonville Fla.
