Four Injured as Car Hits Bridge
A Ford car being driver by Doyle Purer struck the concrete abutment at the city lake last Sunday afternoon and four young people were thrown from the auto. Young Purer and Miss Aura Johnson, who were in the front seat, were hurled through the windshield, Purer receiving painful cuts on his face and leg. Miss Johnson received cuts on the forehead and one knee which required several stitches. Ray Hawkins and Miss Inez Johnson, who occupied the back seat, were thrown free of the car as it struck the bridge. They were shaken up and bruised, but not painfully injured.
The car struck the concrete with such force that the engine was jammed back under the front seat, and the auto was badly wrecked. The occupants had a very narrow escape from death or serious injury.
The injured were brought to the city for medical attention. Farmersville Times.
