Mrs. Dora Porter of Allen Dies in Parkview
September 28, 1963 Mrs. Dora Estella Porter of Allen, died Friday night in The Parkview. She was born September 8, 1893, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. L. Phillips. Her husband, G. W. Porter, and the following children survive: Cecil Porter, Celina; William and G. W. Porter Jr., Allen; Tom Porter, McKinney; Travis Porter, Plano; Mrs. Thelma Giles, Corocoran, Calif.; Mrs. Elizabeth Graves, Allen; Mrs. Alice Rockett, Madrid, Spain; Mrs. Emma Lou Adney, Omaha, Nebr.; Mrs. Joan Preston, Kennewick, Wash. two sisters, Mrs. Bessie Johnson, McKinney; Mrs. Eunice Rains, Fort Worth; brother, Abner Phillips, Canyon, 21 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Crouch-Moore Funeral Home has charge of arrangements. The service is 3:30 p.m. Sunday at the Allen Baptist Church. Rev. Leon Chumbley officiating with burial in the Melissa Cemetery. |
G. W. Porter of Allen Passes Sunday Night
Goyer William Porter, 81, of Allen died at 8 p.m. Sunday in Wysong Hospital. He was a retired farmer, a native of Mississippi where he was born November 23, 1882. Surviving are five daughters; Mrs. Thelma Giles, California; Mrs. Elizabeth Graves and Mrs. Emma Lou Abney of Allen; Mrs. Alice Rockett, Madrid, Spain; Mrs. Joan Preston, Washington; five sons, Cecil Porter of Weston; William and G. W. Porter Jr., of Allen; Tom Porter, McKinney and Travis Porter, Plano, 23 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; one brother, Augusta Porter, Dallas, sister Mrs. Mary ?over; Holly Springs, Miss. His wife passed away in September, this year. Funeral services will be held at the Allen Baptist Church of which he was a member, Rev. Leon Chumbley officiating with interment in the Melissa Cemetery, directed by Crouch-Moore Funeral Home. Time of service is pending. |
Jerry Porter
Funeral services for Jerry Lee Porter, 60 of McKinney, who died Wednesday at North Texas Medical Center, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday in the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel. Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. in Bokchito, Okla. with Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in charge of the services.
Porter was born July 30, 1926 in Bokchito, Okla., the son of Lynne Porter and Ona Milam Porter, and married Jan Reed, July 30, 1953 in Wylie.
He was an aircraft mechanic for Aviall of Dallas and a member of the Waddill Street Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Jan of McKinney; three sons; Jerry D. Porter of Garland, Glenn L. Porter of Rowlett and Mark B. Porter of McKinney; two brothers: Edmond Porter of Calif, Thomas Porter of New Mexico; sister, Hoythe Belcher of Calif.; daughter-in-law, Joy Porter of Rowlett; granddaughter, Chrystal Porter of Rowlett; several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
