C. L. Phillips of Prosper passes away
Claudie Lee Phillips, life-long resident of Prosper, died there Tuesday night after being stricken suddenly ill. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday in Harris-Horn chapel, Rev. D. A. Grigg of Plano, officiating. He was born Nov. 30, 1905 and was of Presbyterian faith. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Pearl Phillips; two sons, Claudie Lee Phillips, Jr. of Celina; Joe Homer of Prosper; daughter, Mrs. Ruby Moore of McKinney; his mother, Mrs. Ethel Phillips of Prosper; brother, Willie B. Phillips of McKinney and three sisters, Mrs. Ruby Nelson, Rt. 4, McKinney; Mrs. Nona Mae Hughes and Mrs. Fay Joplon both of Rt. 1 McKinney. |
Earl Philips
Celina -- Services for Earl Philips, 73-year-old McKinney resident who died Tuesday in a Sherman hospital, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in Harrington-Bratcher-Dickey Chapel in Celina. The Rev. Hubert Long of Waddill Street Baptist Church in McKinney will officiate. Burial will be in Cottage Hill Cemetery. Mr. Philips was born in the Alla Hubbard community near Celina, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Chris Philips. He graduated fro Alla Hubbard and Celina schools and attended Draughan's Business College at Dallas. He married Emogene McDonald Sept. 11, 1938, at Levelland. He was employed by Standard Oil Company of Indiana from 1944 until 1977 and was a supervisor at the time of his retirement. He was a member of the Waddill Street Baptist Church. Survivors are his wife of McKinney; son Donald Earl Phillips of San Ramon, Calif.; daughter Paige Baroughs of McKinney; brothers Ben Philips of McKinney and H. J. Philips of Kaufman; sister, Louise Bilderback of Celina; and four grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Monty Philips , Robert Canaan, Dudley Wilson, Chris Bilderback, W. B. Flanery, Tom Hayes and Durwood Moorhead. The family will be at the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday. |
