Obituary:
Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday for Mrs. Ola Bernice Parsley, longtime resident of Celina, Texas, who died in a McKinney, Texas hospital Monday. Officiating were Rev. V. L. Harris of the First Baptist Church and Rev. J. T. Bledsoe, pastor of the Bethel Baptist Church. Burial was in Cottage Hill Cemetery directed by Scott Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Ernest Rigsby, Herman Hays, Bill and Earl Miller, Velvie Bilderback and C. S. Dennis. Mrs. Parsley, widow of the late Anderson G. Parsley, was born in Gunter, Texas March 26, 1897, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Tom Porter Ellis. She and Mr. Parsley were married in Celina, Texas May 9, 1920, Rev. L. T. Grumbles officiating. Mr. Parsley's death occurred in Celina, Texas September 24, 1954. Mrs. Parsley was a member of the First Baptist Church. Survivors include one son, T. P. Parsley of Dallas, Texas and two granddaughters, Mrs. Linda Smeler and Miss Kathy Parsley, both of Dallas, Texas. (The Celina Record, Celina, Texas, November 28, 1968)

Obituary: Funeral services were held in the Marilee Baptist Church Sunday at 3 p.m. for Anderson G. Parsley, 66, who died at his home northwest of Marilee Community at 5 a.m. Friday after an illness of two weeks. Rev. R. L Stanley, pastor of the Marilee Church and Rev. W. J. Epting of Sherman conducted the service. Interment was in Cottage Hill Cemetery directed by Helms Funeral home of Celina, Texas. Pallbearers were Lee Perry, Sam Miller, Volney Hickman, Jack Kennedy, Alton Woldridge and Dennis Jones. Mr. Parsley was born November 13, 1887 in Tennessee and came to Texas in 1912, first settling in Bethel Community. About a year later he moved to the Marilee Community where he has since resided. He joined the Bethel Baptist Church about forty years ago and at the time of his death was a member of the Marilee Baptist Church. He had been a farmer all his life. He and his wife had recently bought a house in Celia, Texas planning to retire from the farm soon. On May 9, 1920, Mr. Parsley and Mrs. Bernice Ellis were married. She survives as do two sons, T. P. T. P. Parsley 73, of Oak Cliff went to be with his Lord and Saviour Tuesday afternoon, September 12, 1995. Mr. Parsley was a longtime member of Westmoreland Heights Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Hazel. They celebrated their 42 years together. Mr. Parsley is survived by his daughters & sons-in-law Linda & Lelly Semler of Oak Cliff and Kathy & Kenneth Holliday of DeSoto and his loving grandchildren Teresa Berard, Thomas Holliday, Gregg Semler and Matthew Holliday. The family well receive friends between the hours of 6 and 9 p. m. in the Chapel of Memories at Oak Cliff Funeral Chapel on Friday September 14, 1995. A Celebration of his Life will be held at 11:00 Saturday, September 15, 1995 at Westmoreland Heights Baptist Church at 3403 Shelley Blvd. Pastor Ted Kizer and Pastor Emeritus R. A.
