Parr- Hall Families As reported by Ruth and Ray Parr
William Madison Parr and his wife, the former Sally Ann Pike, came to this area from Kentucky around 1890. The following children were born here: William M. married Mattie Corbitt of Wylie; Preston, married Stella Marchant of Wylie; Hurbert married Monica Corbitt; Henry (no wife); John R. married Lucy Dunlap of Wylie; Robert S. married Mary Cassie Hall of Lucas; Clarence married Leona Moss of Lucas; Also Roy, Jennie and George Parr. George married Elsie Corbitt of Wylie. For a time Henry, Clarence and Hurbert Parr continued to live in this area, but only Robert (Bob) has remained on his farm in Lucas and George (Pete) on his place in Forest Grove. Mr. and Mrs. Bob Parr are the parents of six children: Ray, married Ruth Russell of Clear Lake; Naomi, married Si McCreary of Parker area; Beola, married G. T. Woodard of Paris, Texas; Gladys, married Leslie McCreary of Parker; Paul R. married Ila Rae Leapard of Athens, Tex; Fay, married Randall Humphries of Garland. Family Reunion at Parr Home when Nine Sons Return
Every Member of Family Gathers Around the Festive Board, other Wylie news
Mr. and Mrs. Matt Parr, who live six miles northwest of town entertained their nine sons last week. These nine sons are pretty well scattered over the United States and they were all at home with mother and father again. Rice Parr was there from Portland, Oregon; Will Parr and family from San Angelo, Roy Parr and wife of Philadelphia, Pa.; Preston Parr form Electra, Texas. The other boys live in this community. It was a joyous occasion to have them all home again. Mr. Parr came to this community from Kentucky thirty-seven Years ago. He is a successful farmer, a good citizen and has raised a fine family of boys. He owns one of the best farms in Collin county.
