Up until about 1900, District #61 was Hackberry located northwest of McKinney. The number was reused when that school closed. After 1900, Palmer School was included frequently in the news about the Clear Lake community. The school lasted about 5 years.
J. W. Akins was the teacher in 1901 and Miss Ethel Birch was the teacher in 1903.
On April 24, 1904 there was singing at Palmer school house Sunday evening with good attendance.
Miss Pearl Flippen was teacher in 1905.
There is no mention of the school after 1905. It would have merged with the Clear Lake district.
