Services for Eva Vay Oxford, 87, of Euless, who died Sunday in the Euless Nursing Center, will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home with the Rev. Dick Senter officiating. Burial will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park under the direction of Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home.
Oxford was born on Aug. 20, 1907, in McNairy County, Tenn., to Joe Acey and Minnie Mae Alexander Carothers. She married Eugene Wesley Oxford on Jan. 17, 1925, in Childress. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church in Allen.
Oxford is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Shirley and Pat Hatchel of Euless; two grandsons, Scott Oxford of New Hope and Tim Oxford of McKinney; two granddaughters, Mimi Brewer and Robin Wells of North Richland Hills; a great-granddaughter, Katie Wells of North Richland Hills; a sister, Faydell Bradshaw of Abermathy and a brother, Willie Joe Carothers of Tulia.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Wesley Oxford, who died in November 1971; two sons, Eugene Wesley Oxford Jr. and James Wesley Oxford and a daughter, Minnie Evelyn Oxford.
