Oscar Smith Dies In City-County Hospital Thursday
Oscar Smith, 85, resident of McKinney for 43 years, died in the City-County Hospital at 4:45 p.m. Thursday. He had been in frail health for nine months.
He was born March 22, 1872 in Coryell County, Texas, son of Ruff and Angiline Nichols Smith and was married August 16, 1900 to Miss Feb Shields.
Surviving are his wife Mrs. Oscar Smith of McKinney; four sons, Earl and R. B. Smith both of Dallas; Spencer and Martell Smith, both of McKinney; nine grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and several brothers and one sister.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. in the North Baptist Church, conducted by Rev. George Kemp, pastor, and Dr. Charles Myers of the First Baptist Church, with interment in Restland Cemetery, Dallas, directed by Harris Funeral Home.
