Little Creek School
Little Creek School #42 School

Nevada, Texas
Little Creek School was organized in 1880 and paid for by private donations. It was included on a list of Collin County Schools in 1880. The school house was built shortly after 1885. People had to go to Copeville for church services before the building was constructed.
The building was a long, one-room house with a bell tower over the front door. Mr. James M. Watkins ordered the bell for the school. There were trees all around the place, and they had built a brush arbor under the trees to hold protacted meetings outdoors in the summer. The building was on the north side of the road near a road that turns south to Millwood, near Lavon.

Younger – 1903-1904; E. F. Kirby – 1905; Fannie Muse – 1906–1907; Ector Corry; G. G. Evans; B. B. Evans; Geo. Corry; and Mrs. Will Covey. The last school was taught by J. M. Collinsworth - 1909-1910.
The Little Creek School was closed on Sept 1, 1910, and the students went to Lavon School District #135. The trustees were: E. M. Watkins, W. S. Watkins and M. B. Inman. Joe McGuire bought the building and Ed Watkins bought the land.
