The Flowers school is not included in a list of county schools in 1880.
In 1890 the Flowers school had 47 students. The school house was burned in March of 1897. Origin of the fire was a mystery.
Adam Hart was the teacher at in 1897; B. B. Greer in 1901; Anna Bella Viser and Miss Maud Rollins in 1905; Miss Geraldine Lisenby in 1907 and 1908; and Miss Ethel Murray in 1915.
The Literary at Flowers was well attended in June 1905.
Flowers School had 16 male and 34 female students for a total of 50 scholastics in 1909.
In 1912 material was on the ground to start construction on a new school house for the Flowers District. Miss May McFall would be the new teacher. The district had 33 pupils. A new one-room school building was completed in the Flowers school district in 1913.
In 1914 the Donna, Red Oak and Flowers school districts petitioned the County Commissioners Court to allow the districts to consolidate. The Court denied their request. The consolidation did happen in 1915 and the new district was called Routh or Ruth.
