Mr. & Mrs. J.B. Mitchell donated the land for this school. This school was called Hog Waller due to the depressions that were in the prairie that resulted in large puddles in wet weather. Two outhouses out back-one for girls and one for boys. The desks were double and you could sit with a friend. When Miss Alexander came to teach, part of the room was partitioned off for her to live with her father.
