Farmers School
Farmers School #52
Frisco
All Stars Avenue at the Dallas Tollway
Frisco, Texas
The school district was originally formed in 1876 and known as the Farmers School District. Small schoolhouses served the rural population at that time. The community of Frisco began to emerge in 1902 [after the Frisco railroad came through] and the Farmers school district was renamed Frisco. The sports teams were called the Farmers.
When the Frisco district formed in 1902, the Howard School building was moved to eastern Frisco and the Frisco Public School was built in its place. The Howard School was formerly the Bass School, which had been moved from the Bass farm to the James Howard farm. By 1918 the district was renamed Frisco.
The Farmers/Frisco District was always one that had schools in both Collin and Denton Counties. The Hackberry, Robertson, Salt Branch and Zion Schools that were part of this district were in Denton County.
