The Donna community was located about 2 miles south of Westminster on the west side of Red Oak Creek where FM 455 and FM 2862 meet. In 1897 a new school district known as West school District was established. It was commonly known as Donna school.
Prof. Cundiff was the teacher at Donna School in 1901; Prof. Miller in 1903; C. E. Press in 1904, 1905, 1906, and 1907; Miss Laura Bead (Reed) in the winter of 1908/1909; Miss Bessie Matthews in the fall of 1909; and Miss Lucy Smith in 1912. In 1905 C. E. Press was said to be the teacher at the West school #150. The school at Donna was the West School.
The West school had 26 males and 22 females for a total of 45 students in 1909.
The Donna school closed on May 15, 1909 with a nice programme. The Donna concert band furnished the music, and everyone was cordially invited to come.
The school had 56 students in 1912.
In 1915 the Donna school house had been moved to the center of the district formed by the consolidation of Flowers, Red Oak, and Donna schools. Miss Mattie Duckworth of Westminster was employed as primary teacher in the school. The new consolidated school district was called Ruth (sometimes spelled Routh).
